A young, strong, and handsome blond youth, he is said to resemble his cousin Jaime strongly, though Tyrion believes that he is a weak copy at best. He is sixteen years old. Lancel Lannister first appeared in Game of Thrones #9. Current Events Lancel was made King Robert 's squire at the request of Queen Cersei , along with his cousin Tyrek. Robert believes him to be an incompetent idiot and easily fools him into performing menial tasks. While on a hunt in the kingswood, Robert is gravely injured by a boar, after Lancel provided a large amount of strongwine for him.
